Declaration of Compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Requirements
In accordance with the approach we take to running our business, which is based on transparency and social responsibility, the ProCredit Banking group declares its firm commitment and support to the efforts of the international community in combatting money laundering, terrorism financing and other illegal activities.
ProCredit Holding, the parent company of the ProCredit group, is located in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The activities of the ProCredit group are supervised by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht, BaFin). Laws and regulations aimed at implementing the European Union (EU) Directives and the standards of the International Financial Action Task Force (FATF) in the area of combating money laundering have been adopted and are in force in the Federal Republic of Germany. The German Federal Financial Supervisory Service is also a member of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) and adheres to the banking supervision standards, principles and recommendations for the application of best practices established by the BCBS.
All banks in the ProCredit group adhere to high standards in combatting money laundering, terrorism
financing and other illegal activities. The group has adopted a uniform financial monitoring policy for all institutions, which was developed by ProCredit Holding in accordance with prevailing German legislation and international standards in combatting money laundering, terrorism financing and other illegal activities. ProCredit Holding also monitors the implementation of the norms and standards of the financial monitoring programme. Also, all banks in the ProCredit group fully comply with the requirements of local legislation in the countries where they operate.
It is our policy not to engage in business relationships with individuals or companies whose values are contrary to our own, and to immediately terminate any existing relationships as soon as we become aware of any material contradictions with the ethical principles of our business policies.
AML Measures
All ProCredit banks employ qualified anti-money laundering (AML) officers who monitor the implementation of all measures taken by the group to combat financial crimes, as well as ensure compliance with the requirements of local legislation on the prevention and combatting of money laundering, financing terrorism and financing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Important information for new clients
In order to combat terrorism financing and the legalisation of income obtained through crime, ProCredit banks register and verify the data necessary for the identification of each new client, whether a private individual or a legal entity, that opens an account or engages in business relations with the banks. It should be noted that the bank requires the following data for the purpose of client identification: full name, address, date of birth, identity document data as well as any other information necessary for the identification and analysis of the client. Documents must also be submitted to the bank regarding the ultimate beneficial owner and the original source of the funds.
