Young Bankers Programme in ProCredit Bank: Group 2 started training

On 06 February, the second group of participants on our Young Bankers Programme commenced their training. This time 31 participants from various regions of Ukraine are being trained in banking by ProCredit Bank. For six months, the young specialists will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge directly relevant to the financial sector and to ProCredit Bank’s operations and will also benefit from on-the-job training in the bank’s branches. Representatives from all business departments and the management are involved in designing and teaching the course of study. The main objective of the Programme is to recruit talented and motivated employees, who wish to focus on developing professionally with ProCredit Bank. The programme gives them an opportunity to get acquainted with the Bank as an employer and to have a more informed approach to choosing a profession.

"This time, there was strong competition among candidates to join the YBP Programme – 13 applicants for each place. We have chosen strong, success-oriented young people who will benefit from six months’ experience of day-to-day banking operations. I am sure that most of the "young bankers" will appreciate and utilse the opportunities offered by the programme. Firstly, our graduates will have the rare chance to gain both theoretical and practical knowledge; and secondly, the course will enable them to consider their long-term objectives by helping them to answer the questions: “Do I see myself working in the bank?”, “What job do I want to do?” mentioned Alexander Povshednyi, Executive Director of ProCredit Bank.

It is planned that four groups will take part in the Young Bankers Programme during 2012. By the end of March 2012 another 30 participants will have been selected on a competitive basis to begin training in April 2012. During training, the participants will receive a monthly stipend of 2,000 hryvnias. Applicants of any age and with any experience, who have completed higher education and have at least an upper-intermediate level of English are eligible to participate in the programme. The bank also covers part of the cost of living in Kiev for six months for non-resident participants.
