FAQs
You can buy foreign currency via the mobile app or internet banking, in line with the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) regulations. You can view the full list of restrictions here.
To pay tuition fees abroad, please follow these steps:
- Send the signed invoice via internet banking;
- Create a payment instruction under “Transfers” → “In foreign currency”;
- If necessary, create a request to buy currency on the Ukrainian interbank market under “Foreign exchange” → “Buy currency UFEM”.
You can find detailed information about the NBU’s restrictions on international transfers here.
Currently, you can buy up to UAH 50,000 per calendar month for personal needs via online exchange and up to UAH 200,000 per calendar month with subsequent placement on a deposit. You can read more about the NBU’s additional restrictions here.
Cash currency exchange operations are not available at the Bank’s branches. However, you can exchange currency online through internet banking and the mobile app.
You can check the amount already used for currency purchases by viewing your transaction history for the current calendar month.
You can view the reason for rejection in internet banking under “Transfers” → “Last orders”.
Transactions with a UAH card abroad are processed in two stages:
- When the transaction is made, the amount is blocked on your card at the Visa exchange rate on the transaction date;
- Once Visa and the processing centre have completed the settlement (within 1–30 days, depending on the type of transaction), the Bank debits your account at the exchange rate valid on the posting date.
Due to exchange rate differences, the final debited amount may be either higher or lower than the amount initially blocked.
